Dr. Scott Greenberg specializes in natural approaches to family health with an emphasis on nutrition, cancer, preventive medicine, anti-aging strategies and the use of prolotherapy for pain management. A world-renowned prolotherapy physician, Dr. Greenberg counts many Olympic athletes and professional sports stars among his patients. He performs approximately 4,000 prolotherapy procedures each year, and has treated such bold-faced names as former Philadelphia Flyers’ Left Wing Simon Gagné, former Philadelphia Eagles’ Starting Linebacker Mark Simoneau and Oakland Raiders’ Linebacker Mike Carey using the technique. Dr. Greenberg has also treated former Surgeon General of the United States C. Everett Koop using platelet rich plasma (PRP), a revolutionary new treatment that relieves pain by promoting long-lasting healing of musculoskeletal conditions. To date, Dr. Greenberg has performed about 1,200 PRP procedures per year.

Dr. Greenberg became interested in pain management treatment when traditional medicine could not solve his pain problems. Having been struck by a drunk driver at over 75 miles per hour, Dr. Greenberg suffered for years with headaches and debilitating pain in his back, knee and shoulder.  After months of therapy, MRI testing, and consultations with both orthopedic surgeons and neurologists, there was no treatment to be offered other than narcotics – which he refused. It was not until Dr. Greenberg discovered prolotherapy that he was able to treat himself and cure his chronic pain. He now enjoys activities such as biking, ocean kayaking, weightlifting, running, and hockey – when he is not helping others experience the same natural pain relief.

Dr. Greenberg is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice, a member of the American College for The Advancement in Medicine and a member of the American Association of Orthopedic Medicine. He holds Board Certification in Family Practice and has received proficiency certification in Chelation Therapy. He is also a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and is a recipient of the Physicians Recognition Award from the American Medical Association.

He has lectured extensively on prolotherapy, as well as on alternative therapies for cancer. Dr Greenberg is the author of Self-Care Anywhere, published by New Century Publishing in 2000, as well as many articles on alternative medicine that have appeared in esteemed medical journals. He is frequently featured in print and broadcast outlets at both the national and local levels.

Dr. Greenberg received his B.A. in Biology at Rutgers University and attended medical school at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, achieving many academic honors in addition to community service awards. Dr. Greenberg completed his residency in Family Practice in 1999 at the Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, where he began a clinical trial on the use of the immune-boosting herb echinacea, and served as a member of the Hospital Institutional Review Board. He joined the Magaziner Center for Wellness in 1999.
