I have had trouble sleeping...go figure...for the past couple of months. I have tried Cocoon some nights and Melatonin on some nights. I don't use something every night because I find after a while I start waking up in the middle of the night anyway & staying awake. When I do use Cocoon, I drink it hot. I enjoy the extra down-time it gives me before I climb into bed. I have slept well most nights while using Cocoon.
I’ve given Cocoon a long time — used it for a couple of years, actually. From day one, it has always helped my recovery, especially sleep. I love the taste (Belgian Chocolate), and ordering from Progenex has always been easy and smooth.
Overall, this has not been my favorite product. First, let me start by saying that the product I'm used to is Progenex Recovery (Belgian Chocolate), which I love. Cocoon (Silk Chocolate) just had an unpleasant taste to me in comparison. Despite shaking it vigorously for quite a while in a bottle with a blender ball, it still had many clumps left floating around, and was unpleasant to drink. As for the purported sleep benefits, I found it had the opposite effect for me. I can usually fall asleep within 5-10 minutes, but after drinking this before bed, I found myself very restless - on the verge or jittery. I don't know if it was just the simple fact of having so much protein right before bed, but I definitely had noticeably worse sleep on the two nights that I tried it. I think I'll stick to Progenex Recovery for post-workout and then maybe take some melatonin if I'm needing some extra-deep sleep. Needless to say, I won't be finishing this off.
